Skin Technique is one of the easier clinics to understand. It focuses on breadth of procedures than specialization.

Its Yaletown practice is physician-led and rated 4.6 stars on Google. Its published menu spans Xeomin, fillers, non-surgical rhinoplasty, facial enhancement, PRP, CoolSculpting, BBL, Halo, Ultherapy, body treatments and dozens of other technologies that you may not even heard of.

There is nothing inherently wrong with that approach. In fact, if your goal is facial volume, contouring or a particular cosmetic procedure, having physicians and a large medical-aesthetics toolkit can be exactly what you want.

The question at Skin Technique can reasonably be, “Which cosmetic procedure will achieve this change?”

TVA takes a fundamentally different approach and holds a 5.0-star rating to show for it.

At TVA, the question is closer to, “What is happening with this person's skin, and what sequence of interventions will improve it over time aligned with their lifestyle?”

TVA's is overwhelmingly organized around four concerns: Acne, aging, pigmentation, uneven skin (pigment/scarring) and hair loss, with treatment modalities sitting underneath those problems rather than becoming the product themselves.

The two clinics therefore overlap, but their centres of gravity are different.

Skin Technique is a broader business. TVA is much closer to an ultra specialized skin-management practice that has the same tools.

That matters if you do not particularly care what machine, needle or peel is used. You simply want someone else to understand the options and build the right system around you.

The trade-off is approach and cost. A procedure-first clinic tends to work the way medicine works: identify the problem, correct it and send you home. Many of the Skin Technique treatments sit closer to procedures than to skincare, and pricing reflects that.

The menu naturally suits clients focused on things like volume loss, shape changing and contouring, concerns that tend to show up later in life. And with a catalogue that large, it's common to leave a consultation with a list of additional treatments to consider.
