Project Skin MD is the clinic with the longest résumé in the room.
It opened as a SkinCeuticals Advanced Clinical Spa, has operated for over a decade, and has built a physician bench that includes well-regarded doctors such as Dr. Leanne Rowthorn and Dr. Janet Ip. Few clinics anywhere can match their technology arsenal.
On clinical reputation, Project Skin MD is hard to challenge. But a catalogue that deep creates a familiar problem:
You now need someone to translate the menu.
Belkyra, VBeam, Genesis, Excel V+, Thermage, Ultherapy?
The clinic answers those questions in consultation, and that's where the experience starts to depend on who you get. With a large roster of physicians, nurses, and aestheticians, there can be a real gap between senior and junior staff. Even when a device is clinically sound, it might feel like a sales conversation.
TVA designed that variable out. Every client is assessed through the P.R.I.M.E. Method™, and every aesthetician follows the same assessment and prescription system, refined across thousands of internally documented cases to protect quality standards. Roughly 90% of experienced applicants fail TVA's in-house exams, so the standard holds whichever aesthetician you see.
Then comes the price.
Project Skin MD's menu has no published prices. Cost depends on the consultation, which you have to pay for. There are no published ranges, no typical total spend. They make little apology for premium pricing.
Booking adds deposits: $200 for first-time Botox patients, $500 for filler, and 50% of the cost for Thermage, Ultherapy, Fraxel, and CoolSculpting, with cancellation and no-show penalties.
The path runs from an unknown price, to a consultation, to a substantial deposit.
TVA starts with a free, full one-hour consultation, and pricing sits in Levels I to IV based on treatment intensity that you get to choose from. Costs are not based on the name of a machine.
What happens after you pay?
Project's Yelp profile sits around 3 out of 5.
Some public reviews describe poor follow-up. Of course, older reviews don't define a clinic, but they raise a fair question: does the attention after the sale match the attention before it?
At TVA, members have a dedicated aesthetician available by text 24/7, and if results aren't showing, treatment continues until they do. That consistency is reflected in a perfect 5.0-star rating on Google, Yelp, Apple Maps, and TripAdvisor.
Project is open roughly 9 to 5, Monday to Saturday, and closed Sundays, so a quick treatment often means rearranging a workday. TVA builds the plan around the client's timelines, budget, and lifestyle, including training, travel, sweat, and sun.
Project is also no longer founder-run. It sits inside the Functionalab/Dermapure group, which has had an investment relationship with L'Oréal, and its identity was built on a single skincare brand. That can feel more corporate than personal. TVA draws on more than 700 medical-grade products, including SkinCeuticals and other L'Oréal brands, from over 25 brands rather than staying loyal to one bottle, and personalizes the plan.
