Plain Jane may be the cleanest example of the simple facial-bar model.
Its current menu is refreshingly easy to understand: Like microneedling, Clear + Brilliant, a ZO Skin Health facial, among other offerings depending on the branch. Prices and treatment names are presented clearly, and the clinic explicitly provides approachable facial experience in a friendly interior design.
The accessibility is part of the appeal. You can look at the menu, understand roughly what you are getting and book something recognizable. The customer experience revolves around a straightforward, easy-to-navigate menu of facial treatments but has 4.8-star rating.
TVA takes the opposite approach and holds a perfect 5.0-star rating to show for it.
Its pricing page does not ask clients to decide whether they need a $X laser, a $Y peel and a $Z microneedling treatment. Instead, treatments are grouped into Level I, Level II, Level III and Level IV. All levels combine multiple modalities in the same session.
Plain Jane makes skincare easier to shop. TVA makes it less necessary to shop for professional treatments.
You bring the problem. TVA works out the plan aligned with your budget, timelines and lifestyle.
For someone who enjoys a nice casual facial, Plain Jane's model makes a lot of sense. For someone who has already spent years bouncing between facials, products and procedures without knowing what should come next, TVA's model is more deliberately hands-off for the client and more demanding of the practitioner.
Plain Jane's strength is simplicity as the name suggests. The experience is designed to be easy and relaxing: warm service, a boho-inspired space, strong social media presence and a menu you can choose from yourself. The trade-off is depth. When the client chooses the treatment, the clinic's job is mostly to deliver it, rather than to dig into skin history and ask whether it's the right one. For a Sunday facial, that's perfect. For stubborn acne or melasma for someone who regularly goes to saunas, it may not go far enough.
